1. About the China International Import Expo

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is one of the world’s leading import-focused trade exhibitions. Held annually in Shanghai and supported by the Government of China, the event brings together international brands, distributors, retailers, and industry buyers seeking to establish trade partnerships within the Chinese market.

Since its launch in 2018, CIIE has become an important platform for global companies seeking to access China’s consumer and distribution markets. The exhibition regularly attracts thousands of exhibitors from more than one hundred countries and regions, as well as hundreds of thousands of professional visitors from across China.

The event is hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, one of the largest exhibition venues in the world, and serves as a major meeting point for importers, distributors, retailers, foodservice groups, and industry associations.

For agri-food exporters, CIIE offers a highly effective environment to present products, establish distribution partnerships, and engage directly with buyers actively sourcing international food products.

2. About the CETA Agri-Food Pavilion

The CETA Agri-food Pavilion is organized by the Canada Exhibition & Trade Association (CETA) as part of the 9th China International Import Expo, taking place November 5–10, 2026.

Through a participation agreement with CIIE, CETA coordinates a dedicated pavilion showcasing Canadian agricultural and food products within the exhibition’s Food & Agricultural Products Hall.

Location: Food & Agricultural Products Hall (7.1H)

Total Pavilion Size: 500 sqm

The pavilion brings together Canadian producers, brands, industry associations, and provincial organizations in a coordinated national showcase designed to highlight the quality and reputation of Canadian agri-food products.

By participating within a unified Canadian pavilion, exhibitors benefit from shared marketing initiatives, centralized buyer engagement, and coordinated promotional activities designed to increase brand visibility and support commercial relationship development in China.

3. Why Exhibit with the CETA Pavilion

Participating in the CETA Pavilion provides Canadian companies with a structured platform to engage with the Chinese market within one of the country’s most prominent international trade events.

4. Exhibitor Support Services

To support Canadian companies participating in the pavilion, CETA coordinates a range of services designed to simplify exhibition participation and help exhibitors focus on building commercial relationships.

Support services may include:

• Coordination with exhibition organizers regarding pavilion logistics and booth allocation

• Guidance on exhibition preparation and participation requirements

• Assistance with buyer introductions and business matchmaking

• Coordination of pavilion-level marketing activities and promotional events

• Support for media engagement and livestream promotion within the pavilion

Additional support services such as translation assistance or regulatory guidance may also be provided depending on exhibitor needs and program availability.

5. Product Categories

The CETA Agri-food Pavilion focuses exclusively on agricultural and food products originating from Canada.

Eligible product categories include:

• Beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products

• Seafood and aquatic products

• Grains and oilseeds

• Processed agri-food products

• Dairy products

• Specialty Canadian food brands

• Pet food and pet nutrition products

Note

The pavilion is dedicated exclusively to agri-food products. Consumer goods and non-food products are not included.

6. Pavilion Features

Maple Taste Live Studio

A professional livestream studio will be installed within the pavilion to support digital marketing activities targeting Chinese consumers and buyers.

Features include:

• Professional livestream broadcasting equipment

• Canadian-themed studio design

• Customizable corporate branding panels

Exhibitors may reserve timeslots to promote their products through livestream broadcasts during the exhibition.

Maple Kitchen – Culinary Demonstration Area

The Maple Kitchen area will host live cooking demonstrations and product tasting sessions featuring Canadian ingredients.

The facility will include:

• Exhibition-compliant kitchen workstation

• Basic preparation facilities

• Product tasting opportunities

Additional equipment may be brought by exhibitors in accordance with exhibition safety regulations.

Maple Bridge – Business Networking Lounge

The pavilion will include a dedicated networking space designed to support business meetings and buyer engagement.

Features include:

• Coffee and refreshment service

• Meeting tables for business discussions

• Digital screens displaying exhibitor promotional materials

• Organized buyer matchmaking sessions

7. Booth Options

The CETA Pavilion offers several booth formats designed to accommodate different participation objectives.

Sales & Promotion Booth

Suitable for companies bringing a full product range and sales staff to conduct product promotion and on-site retail activities.

Minimum booth size: 12 sqm

Brand Display Booth

Designed for companies focused on brand awareness and distributor recruitment rather than direct product sales.

Minimum booth size: 9 sqm

Group Pavilion Participation

Reserved for Canadian provincial delegations or industry associations organizing groups of participating companies.

Minimum booth size per company: 6 sqm

7. Booth Pricing

Booth pricing includes:

• Raw exhibition space

• Standard booth construction

• Electricity and construction management fees

The following costs are not included:

• Product logistics and shipping

• Customized booth upgrades

• Additional equipment

Companies that sign the participation agreement before April 30 and pay a 50% deposit are eligible for priority pricing.

8. Exhibitors may benefit from a range of promotional resources organized by CETA.

Booths Over 50 sqm

• VIP vehicle access permits during the exhibition

• Additional VIP access credentials

• Interviews with selected official media outlets

• Assistance with press release distribution

Booths Over 100 sqm

• Recognition as an official pavilion partner

• Prominent brand placement within the pavilion

• VIP transportation service during the exhibition

9. Participation Requirements

To participate in the CETA Pavilion, companies must:

• Be legally registered Canadian companies

• Own registered trademarks for their products

• Exhibit Canadian-origin agricultural or food products

Bulk unpackaged food products are not permitted for sale at the exhibition.

10. Application Timeline

Companies wishing to participate should complete the following steps:

1. Submit participation application

2. Sign exhibition participation agreement

3. Pay required deposit by May 31

4. Complete full payment by July 31

Booth allocation priority will be determined based on booth size, early registration, and previous participation.
