CETA Invites Canadian Businesses to Attend the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE 2026)

Canada Named a Country of Honour at CIIE 2026, Creating New Opportunities for Canadian Businesses in China

The Canada Exhibition and Trade Association (CETA) is pleased to invite Canadian companies, industry organizations and business professionals to attend the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), taking place from November 5–10, 2026, in Shanghai, China.

The 2026 edition of CIIE will be particularly significant for Canadian participants, as Canada will participate as a Country of Honour at the 9th CIIE. This provides an important platform for Canadian businesses to strengthen their visibility in China, connect with buyers and industry partners, explore market opportunities, and develop long-term commercial relationships.

CETA Appointed as CIIE Invitation Cooperation Partner in Canada

CETA has been officially appointed by the China International Import Expo Bureau (CIIE Bureau) as an Invitation Cooperation Partner for the 9th CIIE and is the sole Canadian organization holding this appointment.

Through this role, CETA is supporting the recruitment and participation of Canadian companies and professional business visitors attending CIIE 2026.

CETA has participated in the CIIE since 2023 and has continued to expand its trade promotion activities surrounding the Expo. Beyond exhibition participation, CETA works with Chinese industry associations, buyers, distributors, financial institutions and other partners to help Canadian companies establish meaningful business connections in the Chinese market.

To encourage more Canadian businesses to experience CIIE and explore opportunities in China, CETA is offering a 100% professional visitor badge subsidy to eligible Canadian companies registering through the official CETA invitation channel.

Under the program:

  • Up to two eligible participants per Canadian company may receive a full subsidy for their professional visitor badge fees.

Why Attend CIIE 2026?

CIIE is China’s national-level import-themed expo and has developed into an important platform for international companies seeking to understand and access the Chinese market.
