As an official exhibition partner of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Canada Exhibition and Trade Association (CETA) has successfully organized Canadian companies to participate in the Expo for two consecutive years since 2023.

In 2025, CETA partnered for the first time with the Embassy of Canada to China to jointly organize the Canadian Agri-food Pavilion at CIIE. The pavilion received strong attention from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and other relevant government departments. A total of 19 agri-food companies and 3 industry associations participated, showcasing nearly 100 products across seven major categories, including grains and edible oils, meat and seafood, dairy products, beverages, snack foods, pet food, and functional foods. The delegation featured a number of well-recognized Canadian brands, such as Champion Petfoods and Dashan Trading.

CETA remains committed to enhancing brand visibility and delivering tangible commercial outcomes for participating companies. Leveraging its extensive network and market access in China, the Association provides comprehensive, on-the-ground support to ensure the success of the Canadian Agri-food Pavilion.

Beyond brand promotion, CETA places a strong emphasis on facilitating business partnerships and generating trade opportunities. During CIIE 2025, CETA collaborated with Bank of China (Canada) and its affiliated branches in China, as well as the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA), to organize seven dedicated business matchmaking sessions. More than 50 targeted professional buyers were invited, resulting in signed procurement and investment agreements exceeding RMB 100 million, delivering measurable commercial value to participating companies.

In addition to supporting participating enterprises, CETA continues to leverage CIIE as a key platform for China ’ s high-level opening-up to expand its network of partners in China and explore new service areas and channels. During the Expo, CETA signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with five leading organizations, including the China Outsourcing Institute, the China Commerce Association For General Merchandise, the China Crop Protection Industry Association, theChina Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association, and JD Logistics. These partnerships aim to further strengthen and deepen collaboration between Canada and China across multiple sectors.
